Prescription Re-order and Collection Working all week? Have problems getting to your surgery? Then we can help….. We are able to re-order your repeat prescriptions from your surgery for you. Simply leave your re-order form with us at the pharmacy and then phone us four days before you run out of your medication and we’ll do the rest!! Your prescription will be ready for you to collect from the pharmacy 3-4 working days later. If you prefer to keep hold of your own repeat then simply phone or visit us when you have made your medication request at the surgery, tell us when it will be ready and we’ll go and collect it for you. Internet Ordering You are als able to order your repeat medication through the internet via this website. Please ask us in store for more details and to pick up your activation number. Once registered on our system, you will be able to view your medication record on our secure website re-order the items you need. Your medication will be ready for you to collect from us four days later. You will also recieve an email to tell you your medicationn is ready. Blood Pressure Checks
Often without symptoms, high blood pressure (hypertension) affects many people especially as we get older. If left untreated it can increase your chances of developing heart disease. | That is why we offer blood pressure checks to our patients, this simple check is not designed to diagnose but to give you an early indication of raised pressure. If necessary the pharmacist will advise you on measures to reduce your pressure or refer you to your Doctor. |
Diabetes Checks | If left untreated, diabetes can lead to serious complications affecting blood vessels, heart, eyes and feet. So why not have your diabetes check performed? |
Cholesterol Checks | Cholesterol is a name used for fats which circulate around the body in the bloodstream. At high levels they can lead to thickening of arteries and can cause heart disease. The test will include if necessary advice on lowering your cholesterol levels and will advise you to see your GP if required. |

Emergency Hormonal Contraception | The “Morning After Pill” is available over the counter to women over 16 who have had unprotected sex within the last 72hours. The sale will require a consultation between the pharmacist and the woman it is for to determine suitability. There is a charge of £25 for this service.
New! We are now able to offer FREE emergency hormonal contraception to to women aged 13 to 21 years under the direction of the South Birmingham Primary Care Trust. It must be stressed that this form of contraception is for emergencies only and regular usage of the service is monitored.

Help and Advice You can be confident that our Pharmacy assisstants are properly trained through accredited courses, ensuring they can provide advice on common ailments, treatments and medicines. You may be asked some simple questions and our staff may refer you to the pharmacist before you buy anything. This is to ensure that you get the most suitable advice or product. We have a wide range of well-known products available, many of which you can only buy from a pharmacy. If you wish, you can talk in confidence to the pharmacist about common ailments and their treatment. We have a private consultation room for this purpose if required. | Pharmacies are also useful places to go for advice on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. You are always welcome to come in and help yourself to the display of healthcare leaflets covering many of the topics we frequently get asked about. Look out for the new ones each month. |
Our new Wellpoint Machine as well as providing health diagnostic tests also provides health information on a variety of conditions free of charge. Emergency Medication. We are able, in exceptional circumstances to provide an emergency supply of your medication when your surgery is closed. You must be able to provide proof that you have been previously prescribed the medicine. As this service is not covered by the NHS you would have to pay the full cost of the medication. Urgent Prescriptions For details of out-of-hours rota service in this area, please refer to the notice displayed in your local pharmacy windows, doctor's surgeries or in the local press. If you have a prescription marked urgent by your doctor (which must be dispensed outside working hours) or If you need medicines in an emergency and the pharmacy is closed contact your local police who can arrange for a pharmacist to be called out who provides an out-of-hours service Weekly Medication Trays | If you or a relative have difficulty in remembering when to take your medication then we can help. We can arrange medication in to weekly trays according to day and times, making it easier to remember and make sure no important medication is missed. There are eligibility criteria for this service so please speak to the pharmacist for details. |
FREE Medication Use Review
| If you are on regular prescribed medicines and would like a review of your medication please let the pharmacist know. This pharmacy is accredited by the local health authority and our pharmacist has undergone additional assessment to provide medication reviews. |
The review is free of charge and will help you find out more about the medicines you are taking, how they work and how to take them in the most effective way. It will also help us pick up any problems you may be experiencing such as side-effects or interactions with other medicines. You will be able to ask any questions you may have about your medicines. NHS Stop-Smoking Clinics | Our Pharmacist is a trained Smoking Cessation Advisor and can help you stop smoking. Sessions can be done on a one-to-one or small group basis by appointment. Treatment is funded by the NHS, therefore if you do not usually pay for your prescriptions then you would get 8 weeks of your chosen treatment (e.g. Gum or Patch) free of charge. |
